Research interests
海洋物理学に軸足を置きながら,海洋と大気及び雪氷圏との相互作用を考慮し,グローバルな気候変動とその地域的な影響について研究を行っている.具体的には,大気や海洋の循環,及び大気海洋結合系の数値実験やデータ解析を行うことにより,海洋の持続的な変動が季節～十年スケールの気候変動に与える影響について,以下のような研究を行っている.
-海の[ジェット気流]黒潮・黒潮続流の力学・変動メカニズム・気候影響
-環北極域の季節~十年規模変動とその温暖化による変調
-北太平洋十年規模変動と近年の海洋[熱波]との関係
