Research interests
1998年以前は大気エアロゾルによる地球温暖化抑制効果に関する基礎研究に従事し,水溶性有機エアロゾルが雲凝結核として働くことを室内実験により実証した.1998年以降は,地球観測衛星による雪氷域観測データの解析アルゴリズム開発,精度検証のための地上観測,衛星観測データの解析研究等に従事し,北半球積雪域の面積が1980年代以降長期的に縮小傾向を明らかにした.また,雪氷面の熱赤外域分光射出率の角度依存性を世界で初めて屋外にて計測した.近年は,2017年12月に打ち上げられた気候変動観測衛星GCOM-Cの観測データを用いて,北極海流入主要河川の水温・流量監視手法の開発を行っている.
