Research interests
キイロショウジョウバエ組織培養モデルを確立し,単一細胞レベルにおける蛍光・発光イメージング実験に取り組んでいる.末梢の時計細胞として知られており,羽化リズムを制御する内分泌組織である前胸線細胞のバイオイメージング実験において,時計遺伝子発現リズムや細胞内カルシウム濃度リズムの画像化に成功.時計遺伝子発現および細胞内カルシウムスパイク頻度リズムにおける神経調節について解析した結果,脳に存在する中枢時計と,前胸腺に存在する末梢時計が異なる調節機構を持ち,前胸腺細胞に内在する概日時計が,脳神経系を介した光情報入力の影響を受けることにより位相・振幅を調節し,時刻を測っていることを明らかにした.
