A newly developed design method for impact machines is proposed using a two-degree-of-freedom control technique and H-infinity control theory. The proposed controller employs only position measurements with no use of velocity measurements, and has the properties of high-speed, high-accuracy and robustness with respect to plant perturbation, disturbances, sensor noise and working conditions. By computer simulation, it is demonstrated the proposed method is effective.
