title = "Studies on the aconitine-type alkaloids in decoction of kampo prescriptions containing Aconiti Tuber",
abstract = "When Aconiti Tuber (6g) was decocted with Corni Fructus (3g) in boiling water (800mL → 400mL), the total amount of the aconitine diester alkaloids in the decoction was 0.346mg and the pH value of the decoction was 5.1. When only Aconiti Tuber (6g) was decocted in citrate-hydrochloric acid buffer (pH4.0), the decoction contained 6.61mg of the alkaloids, and when it was decocted with water (pH7.8), the decoction contained 0.031mg of the alkaloids. The alkaloid content in a decoction prepared at pH4.0 was 200 times that in the decoction of pH7.8. These results suggest that the pH of decoction affects the hydrolysis reaction of the alkaloids in the decoction considerably.",
