Description
Activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein (Arc) is a regulator of neuronal function. In this study, we have found that SRF cofactors, megakaryoblastic leukemia 1(MKL1) and Ets-like transcription factor 1 (Elk1), activate and inhibit Arc gene transcription, respectively. These findings, at least in part, contribute to a better understanding of brain function and provide a novel insight into SRF cofactor-based drug design.
