Research interests
19世紀フランス文学,とりわけボードレール研究から出発し,その影響を強く受けている女流詩人ルネ・ヴィヴィアンについて,草稿研究を中心に研究を続けている.その延長線上で,欧米におけるジャポニスム文学の研究からラフカディオ・ハーンが同時代の欧米人の日本理解に大きな影響を受けていることを知り,富山大学附属図書館所蔵小泉八雲旧蔵書の書き込み研究を推進すると同時に,ハーン研究に多角的な見地から取り組んでいる.とりわけ,ヘルン文庫の洋書蔵書のうち三分の一を占めるフランス語で書かれた書物の分析に取り組み,ハーンがそれらの著作からどのような影響を受け,自身の講義や創作に反映させているかについて探求を行っている.
