Research interests
1880年代から北米に移民として,または勉学のために渡米した日本人(一世)そして彼らの子孫(二世以降)が,アメリカにおいてどのような文学活動を行ってきたのかその変遷を明らかにする.彼らの文学活動は,日本,アメリカ,在米日本人社会の関係を映し出し,また太平洋戦争を挟む複雑な背景のなかでどのような立場に置かれ,その状況に向き合ったのかを文学活動を通して考察する.
