Variation from magnetic to non-magnetic states of Ce ions in the system Ce(Pd1-xNix)2Al3

CePd2Al3 is a magnetic dense-Kondo compound with TN = 2.8 K and CeNi2Al3 is a non-magnetic heavy Fermion compound. We have carried out experiments of lattice parameters, electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility and specific heat of the substituted system of Ce(Pd1-xNix)2Al3. The TN rapidly decreases with increasing x and disappears for x = 0.16. For x = 0.2-0.4, characteristic non-Fermi-liquid behaviors such as the proportionalities of C/T to -lnT, χ to -√T and ρ to Tn with n ∼ 0.7 are observed in a wide range of temperatures. The Kondo temperature TK increases up to 150 K at x = 1. A continuous change from magnetic features to non-magnetic ones has been revealed. The x dependence of TK and TN is compared to the Doniach's diagram.
