title = "Orderly-cocultured cell fibers for hierarchical tissue assembly",
abstract = "This conference proceeding describes a fabrication of hierarchical tissues originated from hepatoma and endothelial cells using hydrogel fibers where cells adhere on and within the fibers. We prepared cell-encapsulated fibers whose surfaces were modified to become cell adhesive by coating several polymers. The same or different type of cells were able to be cultured on the surface and within the fiber under complete separation. The arrangements of various type of cells in epithelium tissues would contribute to their high function. This technology will be expected to fabricate functional tissues with control of the arrangement of different type of cells.",
