In Japan, telecommuting rapidly spread under the COVID-19 epidemic. Among them, telecommuters, who work solely from home without going to the office, have been observed. In this study, we conducted a semi-structured interview with a sample of telecommuters from our Time-of-Life Survey to clarify the actual status of telecommuters. The results revealed that WFHs have taken sufficient security measures, such as using only provided equipment rather than BYOD, and that they have accumulated telecommuting know-how during the pandemic, and have developed measures to overcome communication problems through trial and error.
