N2 - The ternary phase CuSn3Ti5 crystallizes in the space group P63/mcm. The crystal is either a filled D88-Mn5Si3 or a Ti5G4 structure with the position (2b) occupied by Cu. Isotypic phases are found for MSn3Ti5 with M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Ag and Au. The metals V and Zr form extended substitutional solid solutions with Ti and/or Sn in Ti5Sn3 being replaced by V or Zr. For Nb, Cr, Mo and W neither a ternary phase nor an extended solid solution is found.
