N2 - The present studyaimed to validate a noncontact uroflowmeter developed byus. The noncontact uroflowmeter was compared to a medical uroflowmeter in terms of uroflowmetryvariables. We used the uroflowmeters simultaneouslyto assess pseudourine and urine of healthymales, and compared the urinaryflow pattern, voiding time, voided volume, and average and maximum urinaryflow rates. Both uroflowmeters yielded similar urinaryflow patterns. In the case of pseudourine, the two uroflowmeters differed significantlyonlyin voiding time, which was significantlyshorter with the noncontact uroflowmeter than with the medical uroflowmeter. However, with regard to urine, no significant differences were observed in the terms of uroflowmetryvariables between the uroflowmeters. From these results, the possibilityof using the noncontact uroflowmeter for medical use has increased.
