N2 - In this paper, we carried out source identification of very high frequency sound (VHF sound) emitted from home appliances, and investigated reasons why such VHF sound generated from their home appliances. Recently, many reports that VHF sounds are generated from home appliances have been submitted. For several home appliances whose VHF sound generation was confirmed in our previous study, we performed sound source identification using a sound camera in the VHF region, and grasped their frequency characteristics using FFT analysis and short-time Fourier analysis. The analysis results made clear that VHF sound generated from a LED desk light was associated with a mechanism of modulated light, and the VHF sounds from both a circulator and a vacuum cleaner were associated from the aerodynamic phenomenon.
