Abstract

Thermopower of Pr3Co, Nd3Co and Sm3Co are measured in the temperature range from 4.2 K to 280 K. The thermopowers in the high temperature region show negative values for La3Co and Nd3Co and a positive value for Sm3Co. However, that of Pr3Co shows a small negative constant value. These behaviors are considered in relation to the density of state of Co in R3Co at the Fermi energy on the basis of Mott's equation of the thermopower.
