Abstract
Alkyne metathesis is powerful reaction for synthesis of rigid molecularcages. This reaction selectively affords thermodynamically stable cages owing to the reversibility. Zhang et al. successfully synthesized several cages by using multidentate Mo (VI) carbyne as the metathesis catalyst. Moore et al. revealed that the geometry of cage precursors affect the yields of alkyne metathesis.
