Abstract

There is an increasing focus on developing applications for fullerodendrons because of a variety of interesting features in supramolecular chemistry and material science. Recently, we have reported a facile synthesis of fullerodendron by the use of a Diels-Alder reaction of C60 with poly(amidoamine) dendron having anthracene moiety at the focal point. In this paper, we describe preparation of a fullerodendron having sugar moiety at the terminals. Furthermore, several unique properties of the fullerodendron arisen from optical active sugar moiety will be also discussed.
