Abstract

Recently, we have reported facile synthesis of fullerodendron, which is soluble in various solvents and have an amphiphilic character. During our studies on self-assembly of fullerodendron using van der Waals cohesive interaction of fullerene moiety, we found that this molecule strongly interacted with carbon nanotubes and act as a solubilizer of them. Here we report that a solution of fullerodendrons having poly(amidoamine) dendritic wedge dissolve SWNTs via supramolecular wrapping and formation of a fullerodendron/SWNT nanocomposite.
