Abstract

Sperm cryopreservation has been used in the past to store spermatozoa for heterologous artificial insemination. However, recently, this has been increasingly used for artificial insemination by the husband as a result of the diversification of fertility treatments for men or to ensure fertility after chemotherapy for malignant tumors1). In particular, malignant testicular tumors develop predominantly during the reproductive age of 20-40 years, and even tumors with distant metastasis can now be cured by combined-modality therapy consisting mainly of chemotherapy. Moreover, when performing orchiectomy for bilateral testicular tumors, ensuring post-treatment fertility is an important issue to improve the patient's quality of life. Here, we report a case of successful pregnancy and delivery using sperm frozen before surgery for bilateral testicular tumors.
