Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between the local peak SAR and MIMO antenna performance in human vicinity at 5G sub-6GHz band. A 2-element printed inverted-F antenna at 3.7 GHz was designed to obtain the local peak SAR with various antenna to phantom separation distance, where their correlations with MIMO performance, such as averaged channel capacity and power imbalance of antenna elements, were analyzed using numerical approaches. The results show the feasibility of the method to estimate the local peak SAR using MIMO channel capacity.
