Properties of Harmonic Distortion of Laser Diodes with Reflected Waves

Abstract

The harmonic distortion of a laser is increased by 40 to 50 dB due to external coherent reflection of laser light and injection back into the laser. The reflected waves are synchronized by modulation signal varying directly the oscillation frequency.
