Abstract

Meniett 20 was used to cure vertiginous attacks in seven patients with definite Meniere's disease and one case with delayed endolymphatic hydrops for 2 to 12 months. In seven patients, the numeric values (N.V.) were categorized as improved (N.V. = 0-80), but the N.V. unchanged in one case. Hearing function, evaluated by means of pure-tone audiometry among three frequencies (0.5, 1 and 2 kHz), was unchanged in seven of eight patients. In one patient, hearing function was classified as worse. No side effects have been observed in any patient during the pressure treatment. Pressure pulse treatment by Meniett 20® may be effective for patients with endolymphatic hydrops of the inner ear.
