Abstract

A zeolite capsule catalyst with core (Co/Al2O3)/shell(H-beta membrane) structure was prepared and used for isoparaffin direct synthesis. Based on this catalyst, a new Pd painted zeolite capsule catalyst with three-component core (Co/Al2O3)/shell(H-beta membrane)/paint (Pd) structure was developed. For the isoparaffin synthesis, Co/Al2O3 showed the lowest C1/C1 ratio, but with the highest activity. The selectivity of olefins increased with the production of isoparaffin undergoing the cracking reaction. Based on the hydrogenation of olefins, by the Pd loaded on the zeolite shell, the three-component zeolite capsule catalyst showed the highest isoparaffin selectivity.
