Abstract

Dc magnetization and specific heat measurements on the filled skutterudite PrFe₄P₁₂ reveal the presence of a new ordered state (B phase) in high magnetic fields applied along the [111] direction. The present data suggest that the B phase exists in a limited angular range around the [111] direction. A possible origin of the B phase is discussed within the framework of the Γ₁-Γ₄ model.
