Abstract

The field dependences of specific heat C and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) ΔT/ΔB in CeCu6 have been measured to investigate the thermodynamical aspects of the weak metamagnetic-like anomaly (MA). Around 1.7 T both properties exhibit anomalous behaviors, which have close similarities with those in CeRu2Si2. This fact suggests that the quasiparticle density of states in CeCu6 has a faint peak structure near the Fermi level, which is superposed on the Kondo-resonance peak.
