Abstract

Triple-decker polypyridyl platinum(II) and palladium(II) complexes were prepared using an N,S-bridging ligand. In solution, tight stacking structures were observed at low temperatures, whereas flexible motion was observed at room temperature. These dynamic behaviors are reflected in the electronic absorption and NMR spectra of these complexes (see scheme).
