Abstract
The temperature dependence of the magnetic moment of the magnetic ternary compound UNi2Si2 has been investigated on single crystals in various field strengths. In a measurement under 0.1 Tesla (T), the temperature dependence of the magnetic moment M(T) obeys the Curie-Weiss law in the high temperature region and deviates from it below about 125 K. Then, M(T) indicates a sharp peak at 106 K and the magnetic moment begins to increase abruptly around 53 K. The transition temperature around 53 K is shifted to the higher temperature side with increasing field strength. The temperature-field diagram has been obtained from these results.
