Abstract

Luminescent iodido copper(I) coordination polymers [Cu2I2(PPh3)2(μ-bpa)]n and [Cu2I2(PPh3)2(μ-bpe)]n were synthesized and their luminescent properties were clarified (bpa: bis(4-pyridyl)ethane, bpe: trans-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene). By taking advantage of their isomorphous relation, mixed-ligand luminescent coordination polymers [Cu2I2(PPh3)2(bpa)(1-x)(bpe)x]n were prepared as solid solutions with various ratio of bpa:bpe. The measurements of their photophysical properties revealed that the mixed-ligand complexes are antenna materials where the bpa and bpe sites serve as the donor and the acceptor sites, respectively.
