Abstract

A new Faraday force magnetometer has been developed to perform static magnetization measurements on heavy electron compounds at temperatures down to 100 mK and in fields up to 9 T. The results of the measurements on single crystals of CeB6, CePt2Si2 and CeRu2Si2 reveal new features in the low temperature metamagnetic properties of these compounds.
