Abstract

To ensure the success of the upcoming connected car systems, we are currently developing a 4× 4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system that utilizes circular phased array technology. This paper investigates the impact of the channel capacity considering the estimation error of the incoming wave angle by the angle of arrival estimation function in the circular phased array 4 × 4 MIMO antenna. The results show that the channel capacity reduction is less than 0.5 bits/s/Hz when the estimated angular error is less than 8.5°.
