Abstract

Cyclic urethanes are obtained in good yields under mild conditions from amino alcohols and carbon dioxide using phosphorus(III) reagents [Ph 3P, (PhO)3P, etc.] and halogenoalkanes (CCl4 and CCl3CCl3).
