Fabrication of silica-core photonic bandgap fiber with multilayer cladding

Abstract

A new fabrication technique of a photonic bandgap fiber is proposed. The fiber involves dielectric multilayer deposited by sputtering technique and the bandgap property is easily controlled by thickness and index of the multilayer.
