Abstract
Pressure controlled double side slider type mechanical ventilator system using bag valve mask was proposed and evaluated. In the period of a new type coronavirus infection occurred, a shortage of ventilators were occurred, and MIT has released a blueprint for a wing rotation mechanical type ventilator using a bag valve mask. In our method, a bag valve mask is pushed by two pads moved horizontally for pushing out the air. In the MIT system, the pads are placed facing upwards and act to pinch the bag from the bottom side, so it is unstable compared to our method, which drives the pads horizontally. The mechanical stability between the MIT and our proposed double slider type was confirmed by using a camera based motion capture system. Next, the three pad and pad support parts manufacturing methods for device failure characteristics were performed for a long time drive. Simple proportional controller real time pressure control experiment shows that it was necessary to develop a pressure control method of carefully considering the characteristics of the check valve that responds to non-linear pressure inside the bag valve mask.
