Abstract

Many applications employing the repulsive type magnetic bearing have been proposed earlier. This type of bearing is applied in our lab for designing a measurement system for detecting micro gram masses. This system is useful for thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) which is applied to measure the physical and reactive properties of materials based on temperature. The structure, mathematical modeling and control design of the system have been presented in this paper. Moreover, results of the experiments which are carried out on the system to confirm the function of mass measuring and evaluate the measurement characteristics are included.
