Abstract
Copper segregation was detected at the Q'/α-Al interface in an Al-1.0 mass% Mg2Si-0.5 mass% copper alloy. No segregation of copper was detected at the periphery of type-C precipitates in a copper-free Al-1.0% Mg2Si-0.4 mass% Si alloy. The results showed that the ratio of Si/Mg at the central area of the Q'-phase was nearly equal to that of the type-C precipitate.
