Abstract

The functional wave front of the intramyocardial ischemic region in patients with coronary stenosis was clinically demonstrated. It was observed that deterioration of the transmural myocardial contractility occurs heterogeneously in coronary hypoperfusion. The Phase Tracking Method adopted in the study was found to have high spatial and temporal resolution, together with ease of handling for repetitive use. The transmural systolic function obtained by the phased tracking method supplied new information about the ischemic myocardium under ischemia and after coronary reperfusion.
