Abstract

Paleozoic limestones are widely exposed in the W part of Okayama. They are undeformed except those in the Taniai area of the Atetsu Limestone Plateau and in the Ashidachi area to the NW of the plateau. The limestones in the Ashidachi area have suffered intense ductile shear deformation to become calc-mylonite. Describes the deformation features of the Ashidachi calc-mylonite and considers its significance. -from Author
