Abstract

An automatic CO₂-water equilibration set-up originally designed for δ¹⁸O measurement of water samples was employed for δD analysis using the lately established H₂-water equilibration method without any modification of the instrument. No special skill is needed and the time required for both δD and δ¹⁸O analyses of 24 waters was only 15 h. Long-term reproducibilities were ± 1.5 and ±0.16% for δD and δ¹⁸O analyses, respectively. This method is very suitable for multi-water analyses.
