Abstract

A systematic investigation of the cell-loading mechanism was carried out. Focus was on measurement of the dependences of the number of loaded Rb atoms on the superfluidity of helium in the cell, on the repetitions of loading, on the power and the wavelength of the loading laser light, and on the amount of Rb deposited on the wall surfaces. The results indicate a consistent picture of the loading mechanism.
