Abstract

We proposed and implemented in vivo measurement of Raman spectra by use of a hollow fiber Raman probe instead of optical silica-glass fiber probe. The hollow fiber probe has excellent background property comparing to the latter one. Raman spectra were measured at rat stomach and oesophageal epithelia. Characteristic Raman bands of lipid (carbon chain) and protein species (Trp, Tyr, Phe) are recognized in the Raman spcectra. The hollow fiber probe shows a good performance for collection of Raman light.
