Abstract

We are currently developing a 4 × 4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system for ad-hoc connected car applications. To evaluate the proposed MIMO antenna, we performed a ray tracing simulation of a radio propagation environment for vehicle-to-vehicle communication in an urban environment. The results revealed that the 4 × 4 MIMO channel capacity based on the characteristics of the analyzed radio propagation environment varies depending on the SNR.
