Abstract

One of the major challenging issues of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) is improving of the trade-off relation between the acoustic noise and efficiency without the increase of the system cost. In this paper, some simple current waveforms are proposed to reduce both the 3rd and 6th harmonics radial force component and the rms current using simple look up table. The proposed method is adopted to the 12/8 poles SRM for the industrial application.
