Abstract

With the demand for quality assurance at universities, university certified evaluation and accreditation system has been established and revised its standards. Therefore, all universities in Japan are required to evaluate based on evidence. In Okayama prefectural university, as part of educational reform, we established the University Center for Educational Research & Development in 2014, and additionally established a teaching IR department within the center in 2017. Through incorporating the teaching IR into the education evaluation system, we aim to revitalize educational reform by objectively analyzing and evaluating the achievements of educational activities, and reflecting them in various measures. In this paper, we describe the background, mechanism and domestic trend of IR in Japan, introduce the current efforts and show the future direction in Okayama prefectural university.
