Abstract
The insulin resistance in skeletal muscle causes the onset and the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, its molecular mechanism is unclear. In this study, we clarified the expression of filamin, which is one of actin-binding proteins, increased in the skeletal muscle of diabetic rodents compared with the normal rodents. This data indicate that filamin may have a physiological function for glucose metabolism in the skeletal muscle involved in the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
