Project Details

Abstract

For three years from 2010 to 2012, we conducted collaborative research on a traditional regional city, namely Iga-Ueno. We performed comprehensive analyses of the honorifics from a sociolinguistics standpoint. Sixty years after the first Iga-Ueno survey, we clarified the factors behind changes in language behavior, and proposed new research methods for field research in urban areas.
