東京オリンピック開催で、外国人観光客の増加が見込まれる。そこで、和文化を気軽に体験できる温泉浴衣（温泉旅館の館内着としての浴衣）に着目した。①学術的意義は世界初として、温泉浴衣の着装行動と温泉浴衣の嗜好傾向を明らかにした。また、温泉浴衣を類型化した。さらに、浴衣(casual cotton kimono)に抱く色彩イメージの好みとファッションセラピーとしての浴衣着用の効果を明らかにした。②社会的意義は温泉宿のお客様を対象に調査を行った「温泉浴衣」調査によると男女で好みの違いが明らかであった。学校教育としての若者や外国人に和文化体験、宿には温泉地域の活性化に貢献すると考えられる。
