Abstract

Trypanosome has glycosome that resembles to human peroxisome. Impaired biogenesis of glycosome is known to show fatal effect for trypanosome. As an application of the knowledge about biogenesis of peroxisome, we tried to develop the therapeutic compounds for trypanosomiasis. We established a high thoughput screening system to identify chemical compounds that inhibit the interaction between Pex5p and Pex14p. Using this screening system, we started to screen chemical libraries to find effective compounds.
