カテプシンKを抑制することにより、筋の再生を促進し、線維化や炎症細胞の浸潤を低下させる。我々は骨格筋でのカテプシンKの機能を解明し、カテプシンK阻害剤をDMDの有望な治療薬の候補と考え、その有効性と安全性を検討する。
